My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion

Present Day Acts Ministry Newsletter

Dear Praying friends,

Greetings from India! I hope that you are healthy and well. We thank you for praying for us and supporting us as we serve God through the Gospel ministry here in India. The Lord is faithful and He continues to use us to reach people with the Gospel of Jesus Christ even in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic.

New Sisters in Christ

Santhi was born into a Hindu family, however her home is in front of the church meeting site. She has been regularly attending Sunday school and is one of the best students. After Santhi received her education she got married and conceived a child. Sadly, she lost the baby due to miscarriage. She then began to develop stomach pain, motion sickness, and weakness.

After undergoing many tests, the doctors discovered that she had cancer. She received chemo treatment at the hospital. The church prayed for her healing and within one year all of the cancer was gone and her health was normal. She did not lose any hair and now her health is in good condition.

Sadly, Santhi’s husband left her due to the sickness and did not want to continue in the marriage. This is very difficult for her but the church body comforted her. She moved to a larger city nearby and has a job.

Last month, during the church service, we announced that there would be a Lord’s communion. Santhi personally stood up and professed her faith in Jesus and she wanted to have water baptism. This past weekend (09/12), she was baptized in the name of the Father, Son, and Spirit.

Another woman, Anusha, who is Santhi’s friend, has also been a Sunday School student in the church. Her father is a Communist leader and does not like Jesus Christ. Anusha is married with two children and her husband is currently unemployed. However, Anusha accepted Christ and was also baptized.

Shanti’s step of faith inspired Anusha to also be baptized. Anusha said that she kept thinking this question in her mind, “If I died today, where would I go?” She was also moved by seeing so many recent coronavirus deaths and gave her life to Christ.

Though Anusha’s comes from a Communist family and has an un-believing husband, God opened her heart to believe. The photos of these new sisters’ baptism are below.

Please pray for them in order to grow in faith as strong believers. Ask God to strengthen them so that through their witness the entire village would come to know Christ.

Pastor Meesala’s Health Update

Pastor Meesala was hospitalized due to an infection in his leg caused by cellulitis. He was COVID tested at the hospital, and due to testing manipulation in India, received a positive test result. He was then admitted into a very under-staffed COVID unit. During this time our family and his previous doctor questioned his test results, and we were able to have him discharged only a few days later. He received another COVID test and praise the Lord the results were negative. He is now back at home and is daily regaining strength.
